For its 2018 Annual Meeting, EVOLTREE has joined forces with EUFORGEN and the EFI Mediterranean Facility to bring you two side events at the EFI's 2018 Annual Conferencein Alghero in Sardinia, Italy.
Forests and agroforests play a vital role in the lives of people and are key to meeting several of the Sustainable Development Goals. New genetic and genomics approaches, including new-generation breeding strategies, have great potential to harness natural genetic variation to promote forest health and productivity, in particular in the face of global disturbances, such as climate change, land fragmentation and emerging pests and diseases.
This joint EVOLTREE and EUFORGEN seminar will connect forest genetic resources and sustainable development by exploring theoretical approaches to applied breeding and genomics.
Calls for abstracts is closed.

In this side event, EFIMED, EUFORGEN and EVOLTREE bring you a fascinating exploration of some key Mediterranean species.
The morning session looks into the genetics, management and uses of stone pine and cork oak. In the afternoon, in collaboration with European Hardwoods Innovation (EHIA) and the French Institute of Technology for Forest-based and Furniture Sectors (FCBA), we examine the role of Mediterranean oaks in the forest-based bioeconomy.
Call for posters open till 31 July.
