The training course “Genetics and Genomics of Adaptation to Climate Change in Plants” was organised by the University of Copenhagen from 25 to 29 November 2024. It covered the use of GWAS to identify genotype-phenotype associations with a focus on fitness-related traits in forest trees, the approaches to study adaptation of long-lived plants to changing climate conditions, the measurement of genetic diversity and adaptive potential, and the analysis of data from common garden trials. The lectures were combined with practical examples, giving us the opportunity to visualise real data and discuss practical issues and results. We also had the opportunity to present our own ongoing research and share our findings, challenges and experiences with other participants. Overall, it was a great networking opportunity enriched by a field trip to an oak common garden trial, the ADB tolerance trial plots and the Hørsholm Arboretum.
