Prof Emily Latch, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, studies how ecological processes (both natural and anthropogenic) shape the evolutionary trajectory of a species. Prof Latch’s work uses molecular genetic and genomic tools and statistical genetic methods to address questions in vertebrate population genetics, evolutionary ecology, and wildlife conservation and management. The lab has a particular interest in how the results are applied to design optimal strategies for conservation and management of wild species. In her career, she has studied a wide range of species including mule deer, house wrens, antwrens and desert tortoises.
